The Carreiro Classic is honoured to have two charity partners for the 2026 tournament.

We are pleased to partner with the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. With the rising cost of living, many families often have to choose between essentials like rent, groceries, and bills. As a result, sports and recreational activities become an unaffordable luxury for many children. With our partnership, we hope to help remove financial barriers and ensure more kids have the opportunity to participate in sports, just as Johnny and Jono did.

We are thrilled to partner with Hospice Wellington, who provides support and services to individuals who are living with a life-limiting illness, as well as those who are experiencing grief and bereavement. Hospice Wellington provides community programs and palliative care for those at end of life. With our partnership, we hope to support Hospice Wellington in providing the best quality of care and services, which are provided at no cost.

About Free to Grow

The Free to Grow program, offered by the Children’s Foundation, provides financial assistance to children and youth in Guelph & Wellington to enable them to participate in sports and recreational activities. The program ensures that every child has the opportunity to engage in team sports, build confidence, and develop life skills, regardless of their family’s financial situation.

In the 2023-2024 period, Free to Grow funded over 1,600 activities, including soccer, basketball, football, and summer camps, helping more than 1,100 children and youth in our local community.
